Durability

Carrier has been around for nearly a century by offering products designed to take the abuse of the great outdoors and deliver lasting, reliable indoor weather. On the outside, our WeatherArmor III^TM system combines a heavy galvanized steel cabinet, 12-gauge wire coil guard and ceramic-coated screws to provide protection against rust, corrosion and the abuse that comes from sitting outside next to your home.

Carrier maintains the industry's toughest reliability testing standards to be sure that every product we make will provide trusted indoor weather performance. Every step of the development process has reliability testing built in. In fact, Carrier designs and tests the 38TZA for applications up to 125^o. That's a full 10^o higher than the industry standard requirements. During the design phase, hand-built prototypes are tested for potential performance issues. Test stations on the production line provide quality control during assembly. Then, each product is run-tested by a bank of computers that monitors all vital functions to ensure the performance will meet your expectations.

At Carrier, we understand that it's hard to relax with a noisy air conditioner, so we take several steps to ensure the 38TZA is the industry's quietest air conditioner. Carrier's exclusive Silencer System ensures extra-quiet cooling. The Silencer System includes four main elements: the Silencer System top, a low-speed fan motor with large-diameter fan blades, a compressor vibration isolator plate and a sound hood. The Silencer System top is designed to allow smooth, easy air-flow into and out of the outdoor unit to minimize noise associated with turbulent air. This new top design allows us to utilize the low-speed fan motor with large-diameter fan blades, which is quieter and more energy efficient than a high-speed model. The compressor vibration isolator plate is made of a special, vibration absorbing material surrounded by two metal plates. It's mounted underneath the compressor and absorbs vibrational noise created through compressor operation. The sound hood is designed of sound-absorbing materials which blanket the compressor to add a final touch to the noise reduction system.

A byproduct of this Silencer System is greater operational efficiency. Because the Silencer System greatly improves airflow through the outdoor coil section, your air conditioning system doesn't work as hard as other competitive systems. As a result, the 38TZA delivers soothing indoor weather with money-saving energy efficiency. And, because the system is more efficient, the coil can be made smaller to take up less of your valuable garden space.
